Washington image “Washington/The Champion of Liberty.” Scarce Patriotic Civil War Straight Razor with an intricately done image of a young George Washington and at top written “Washington” (first two letters obliterated by sharpening) and at the bottom “The Champion of Liberty.” Maker marked George Rogers and Sons/Cutlers to their Majestys/ 6 Norfolk Street/Sheffield/England. The fist 5 letters of Sheffield are worn off. Dark horn handle. Slight age crack by pivot pin. 6-1/4 inches long closed; 10 inches long open; blade 4-3/8th inches long by ½ inch wide. Made in Civil War era or possibly before. I was told that this item is worth considerably more than it is and have lowered the price to what I was told is its approximate value by sometone who knows about these things. $12 shipping/insurance.
