Description:
Wells Fargo Tin Money and or document box Ca 1870s to 1880s with brass Wells Fargo marker.  8-3/4 wide by 6 inch high by 5-3/4 inches deep.  Tin box with fancy raised top element with raised curved sides that come to a point on each side.  Very old dark brass handle. Box is painted a dark color – more brown than anything else – with yellow pin stripes at the top and bottom (5).  On the front right side is a brass ownership marker held on with two brass bolts that says (curved at top) “PROPERTY OF/WELLS, FARGO & CO./EXPRESS.  Box shows long used.  Most of the paint is present.  Some scratches.  There is a hinged hasp, but whatever it fit over is no longer present. I bought this and many other Wells Fargo pieces from an estate sale in Arizona about 1993. $12.00 shipping.  I accept Paypal in addition to bank checks and money orders.  Thanks for looking.
