Description:
Here is an original, authentic, genuine Model 1873 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine with SN#156604 which would make this an 1880 Carbine. Has 22 inch barrel. Proper rear sight. Markings on the rear of the barrel VP and Eagle and a P proof mark. Proper front sight and good crowning on the front. The bore is good. Has 1873 Breechblock. Low arch. Receiver has SN#156604. Lock plate and hammer are original to the gun. Lock plate has US Springfield with shield on it. Hammer is the third type. Proper trigger bowl with smooth trigger. Barrel band has U on it. Butt plate has the oval trapdoor with cleaning rods inside. Saddle bar and ring is original. All metal parts match. All metal is like a dark brownish patina. Barrel is rough on the outside. Stock is original & has lots of dings. Stock has a faded cartouche, and a faded "P" proof mark. Small hair-line crack on top of stock grip (nothing major; not cracked all the way through). No major damage to stock. To me, I think this could have been an Indian Gun. This is a very original, genuine, authentic Model 1873 45-70 Springfield Trapdoor Carbine!!! SHIPS TO BUYER. SHIPPING INCLUDED IN PRICE. NO FFL.
