A S&W First Model- Second issue- identified by serial 87643 indicating a March 1866 manufactoring date.

Also a letter form the Office of Smith and Wesson indicating a serial number of a similar model Rosewood grips with original finish 3 3/16th" barrel Popular with soldiers during Civil War and with individuals traveling West No marking on barrel - cylinder faint markings - patent dates-worn off Cylinder still "times" with cocking. A very good price at $425.00 for a piece of history
