Description:
This gun is marked J. Lewis & Sons (on rib this address Abery St. w YTH)
This should not be confused with G. E. Lewis & sons, although there could be a connection. I cannot find any info on J. Lewis. They were probably one of hundreds of gun dealers operating in Birmingham in the early 20th century.
The gun is in excellent original condition, bbls mayhave been re-blacked . The bores are excellent, bright & shiny.
The gun is tight on the face with theforend remove. The gun locks-up like a vault. The wood is excellent with the usual scratches from use, This gun has been well cared for.
Gun is very lightweight. 6 pounds 4 OZ.
28 " bbls. R choke Cyl. L=Full.
2&1/2 inch chambers Nitro Proofed for 1& 1/8 oz. shot.
Most case hardening remains, turning gray
LOP=14.5, DAC=1&3/8, DAH= 2&1,4
(Slight cast-off)
This gun was probably made for J. Lewis, by the Firm of Webley & Scott. It is virtually identical to the W&C. Scott model 180 shown in Scotts 1922 catolog.
This is an oppurtunity to own a well made British shotgun at a super price.
I will only ship to an FFL.
$50. for shipping.
