Description:
Serial # 15xxx, circa 1879. An early Gibbs Farquarson re-barrelled to 30-40 Krag by Griffin & Howe, NYC and so marked on the barrel. Work probably done in the 1930's-40's. The action with 95% coverage of very fine tight classic scroll engraving has been re-case colored and retains 99%. The safety levers "BOLTED" position is inlaid in gold. The 28" round barrel with excellent bore retains 95% blue, a hooded ramp front sight, G&H top mount double lever scope base w/ 1" rings included, and the receiver has a tang sight marked AGA. Original nicely figured PG wood is still proud to metal, with refreshed checkering, excellent finish, vacant gold oval, sling eyes, steel BP and case colored trap grip cap. A classic British singleshot rifle in a fine American hunting caliber.
