Payment Types Accepted: Money Order, Certified Check Description: This is W. Parker 12 Gauge Double Barrel Percussion Shotgun that was made around 1860. This one is attic fresh with fantastic wood and the metal having turned to an uncleaned brown patina. It is a little fancier than most with a small cap box on the right side of the stock and a small outlay panel of engraving on the bottom of the trigger guard. Trigger guard and buttplate have the long English style iron finials. The front furniture is nicely engraved German silver with a rather nice relief engraved (sort of looks like a shalk of wheat) at the tip of the forend cap. The side locks are marked "W. Parker" with basic English Scroll engraving. 28" Damascus Barrels with rather wide 1/2" top rib engraved "London Fine Twist". There is still damascus twist pattern showing throught patina with much more showing underneath. We pulled the barrels from the stock and they indicated this shotgun was proofed at the Birmingham Proof House..and was almost certainly made there as well. It has a double hook breech. Stock is checkered and made of fine straight-grained English Walnut. In nice shape with almost all the original varnish remaining and no cracks or repairs. The locks are in good working order and both full and half cock notches are working. Ramrod appears to be an older hand-made replacement...probably by a previous owner who placed his name on the side of the shaft. SOLD Antique: Yes Manufacturer: W.
