.44 Double Action 1st model Revolver also known as New Model Navy or D.A. Frontier, .44 S&W Russian caliber, 6 shot fluted cylinder, 6" barrel, top break, excellent original grips. Serial number 6383, manufactured 1881. Smooth gray finish with traces of blue remaining in protected areas. Extra Strong rifling with very bright clear bore. Action works perfectly and locks up tight. A common revolver of the American frontier. One like this was carried by Belle Star "The Bandit Queen of Indian Territory" and John Wesley Hardin Died on the floor of the Acme Saloon in El Paso with one of these in his hand. These are very good shooters in this caliber.
