Description:
Simpson Luger
Item Description
This is an undated, scarce, very rare Simson Luger in 95% original condition. It is all matching except for the Simson coded magazine. These Lugers were made to the highest quality of all Luger manufacturers. The gun is a 100% correct and complete example of the rare and elusive Simpson Luger. The bore is excellent. The pistol is completely matching and Simpson proofed and probably made around 1929-1930.
Per the terms of the Treaty of Versailles, Simson and Son were the only company authorized to produce and overhaul arms for the Weimar-era German Army. They started to manufacture Lugers in 1925 on equipment obtained from the old Erfurt Arsenal. They ar rare today because the need for new equipment in the Weimar-era wasn't large and the company was nationalized in 1933 when the Nazis came to power. Simson Lugers are extremely rare; buy them when you can find them!
