ORIGINAL SPRINGFIELD U.S. MODEL 1888 RAMROD BAYONET TRAPDOOR RIFLE CIRCA 1893. .45-70 Govt. caliber. Excellent and all original and correct. 85% plus original blue overall with the breechblock having muted case hardening remaining. Stock with almost all of the original finish with nice handling patina and a crisp “SWP/1892” cartouche. Crisp “EAGLE/U.S./SPRINGFIELD”. Circled “P” proof behind the guard. Regimental rack numbers forward of the butt plate tang stamped with a large "2" and smaller "87" in large block numbers crisply struck. Excellent screws turned maybe once. Fine working order and mint bore. Original bayonet. Don’t believe this gun ever been apart and all original with no cleaning whatsoever.
