Description:
Hesse manufactured Gewehr in 7.62X51mm. This must be one of the good ones as it functions flawlessly and is capable of 1 M.O.A. groups using Federal Gold Medal over open sights.
This gun is essentially as it came with slight bright spots where the phosphatized finish has been rubbed, which can be seen in the pictures provided. The bore is in very good condition. I can't say excellent or new because I don't know what barrels Hesse used.
I only know how it shoots for me which is excellent for iron sights. Brass is nearly unretrievable though since it gets launched forward 20 feet at about 2:00.
This particular version has a welded-on muzzel brake instead of a flash hider. I was unhappy about this until I fired it and discovered that it worked. I'm 6'5" with long arms and when I shoot HKs I tend to get a cheek weld near the rise in the stock where it meets the receiver. With HKs, after a few boxes of ammo I come away with a bruised cheek. Not so with this variant.
Comes with quick detach mount, sight adjustment tool, eleven 20 round mags and two 5 round mags.
