A wonderful example of a William Evans rook rifle. .250 caliber, Sidelever, extractor, rebounding hammer, single-bite, with color-cased action. Barrel is 23", round, and retains 80+% of original finish. Receiver is octagonal, and gun has express style sights with 50, 100, and 150 yard leaves. Front sight retains original white bead. Finely figured walnut stock with blank brass oval. checkered butt, and pistol grip with color cased cap. Forend is of the snap type. Sidelever rifles definitely bring romance back into your first love. Nothing feels finer in the hand. It is also important to remember, William Evans learned his craft at Purdeys. Barrel is stamped, "William Evans from Purdeys.
