Description:
For Sale I have an Extremely nice Bacon Manufacturing Co. Civil War Era Revolver that came directly out of an estate and Is fresh to the market. This revolver has an extremely low serial number and I'm confident in saying it's probably one of the lowest if not the lowest  in existence. The Serial Number of 51 is stamped on the frame under the left grip, the barrel, the loading lever, the loading lever latch, the wedge, the cylinder, and the trigger guard. The condition of this revolver is very good to excellent as it still retains ample high polish bluing on a large part of the barrel and case colors can still be seen on the loading lever. The frame has a nice patina and a small amount of engraving on either side. The bore is very good with great shine and black powder pitting throughout and has very deep, sharp rifling. When I acquired this revolver all 5 cylinders were loaded as can be seen in the pictures below. I unloaded it for not only safety but to assure the cylinders were still in good shape and they are excellent as well with no pitting I can see. I believe this revolver was used very little not only because of the condition but because of the loaded cylinder that has probably been like that for over 100 years Judging from the age on the bullets. I'm including the bullets as can be seen in the last pic and you can reload it with the bullets only for display if you like as that would make for quite a conversation piece. The only detractor to this piece is the mainspring has a braze repair to it which of course can only be seen when the grips are off. It in no way affects the functionality of the revolver and it remains in excellent mechanical condition with the cylinder locking up like a new revolver and the action being as crisp as the day it was produced. If the braze repair bothers you you can easily replace the mainspring and keep the original. As with all of my listings I take many pictures both inside and outside with flash and without as to minimize any suprises once it's in hand so please view all of the pictures carefully and ask any questions prior to . Shipping will be a fixed $30. Payment to be made in the form of money order, cashiers check, or PayPal Gift. If PayPal gift is used I will ship for free.
