Serial Number: 6G 61378
Here we have a real gem of a Belgium made Browning 12 gauge "LIGHT", sn6G 61378 made in 1966 (pre-salt, no salt) in the correct Browning hard case. The gun is all factory original in every way, with 99% barrel blue, receiver and trigger guard blue, and wood finish. There are two barrels, one a vent rib 28" Mod, the other a much older 30" plain barrel choked full. This gun is just as you like to find them...a few tiny handling marks on the wood and only the faintest amount of wear on the hard edges of the metal. The engraving, lettering, and checkering are all factory crisp and the case is in excellent condition. There is even the original manual in the case and the case is proper for the set. The LOP on the stock is 14 3/8" to the original factory butt plate and it is the long tang round knob style that is so desirable. The instructions are still intact in the forend wood, as are all the proper small pieces. No splits or cracks anywhere. Bore is mirror perfect on both barrels. The 30" barrel has no pits or scratches, but shows considerable wear and only has about 85% barrel blue. An amazing find for a 50 year old Browning and affordably priced. Belgium made Browning A-5's have grown in value over the years and are a great vintage gun to take afield while it continues to grow in value. That is the delight of investment quality firearms.
