SCARCE REMINGTON-RIDER NO. 1 ROLLING BLOCK ROUND TOP 16 GAUGE SHOTGUN CIRCA 1870’S. 32” round fluid steel barrel (full choke) chambered for the 2 ½” brass UMC 16 gauge shell or alternately the 20 gauge paper shell. As offered in Remington Catalogs of the period. All original and in good condition with grey patina. Walnut stock with steel shotgun butt plate and matching forend with the original finish. Remington-Rider patent dates and “REMINGTON & SONS, ILION, N.Y., U.S.A.” address on upper tang. Early Remington Rolling Block “Round Top” frame. Only 3000 made and quite scarce.
