WWI OR WW1 ITALIAN VETTERLI MODEL 1870 /87/15 6.5x52 CALIBER MILITARY RIFLE. Converted during 1915-16 along with all the other almost 500,000 Vetterli's from it's original 10.4mm black powder caliber. Conversion from 1870 config consisted of sleeved barrel, alteration of box magazine area, bolt alteration(hence the model number hypens). "Brescia" stamped on left barrel flat along with various "KG" "Bullseye over crossed rifles, crown in oval, etc. Bore dark like most but visible rifling. All original sling swivels, cleaning rod, sights, screws, bands, etc. Wood excellent with NO cracks or losses and all the original stock finish. No import marks.
