Description:
A beautiful and effective JP Sauer Sidelock Drilling in 8x57 JR (.318) / 12X12. The wood is highly figured, but the foreend has been reworked from a beavertail to a spliter foreend which really helpled in balance and shootability of the gun, but checking was not added back to foreend. 14 3/4" LOP, drop is 2.5 and 1.5. Blueing is 90%, and the action, foreend metal, cartridge trap and trigger guard are all beautifically engraved with rose & scoll. The rifle barrel shoots sub-MOA using Sellier & Bellot factory ammo at 100 yards, and at 50 yards using iron sights, it shoots sub-MOA at 6 inches high. Highly accurate rifle. The chokes on the 2 3/4" chambered 12 gauge barrels are skeet and skeet, and it shoots slugs very accurately. I have personally hunted for years with this gun and have shot humdreds of birds and several big game animals with it. Highly effective and versatile gun. Double locking lugs and Greener Cross Bolt, Greener side-safety, flip up rifle selector. This is a steal at $2800 with the claw mounts and rings. Scope not included.
