General Specs: Parker, Year 1931, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 8oz, Side-by-Side Serial Number: 234602 For those that love vintage American double guns Parker is the King. Clearly the most sought after double gun of all of the big 5 makers from the pre-WWII days, it is a gun that was hand fitted by craftsman who cared and performed at a very high level of the gun maker's art. Parker had the best wood to metal fit, the best executed checkering, and some of the finest filed frames to be seen from American gun makers. Parker also won more tournaments and competitions than the others, and built their guns to shoot and handle in a way that they became legend and are still highly prized today. In fact, I challenge anybody to show me a modern gun under $10,000 that will hold a candle to the hand engraving, hand checkering, and overall fit and finish of a Parker. This 12 bore Parker was made in 1931 on a 1 1/2 frame, weighs in at 7 1/2 lbs. and balances dead on the hinge pin. The 30" Titanic Steel barrels have mirror bores choked IC/IM, double ivory beads, 2 3/4" chambers and are tight on face and hinge like a new gun. What a great field gun or sporting clays gun, with gorgeous figured wood and case colors, clear sharp engraving, excellent screws and mechanically excellent in all ways it is a fine Parker to be proud of. The beautiful European walnut has high stock dimensions and a long LOP which is hard to find in older shotguns. Parkers have steadily increased in value over the years and this is a gun that can be carried afield and on the clays course for years and be worth more money than the day you bought it. A great gun and a great investment for your shooting pleasure. Thanks for looking!
