Description:
Ithaca Lewis Model Grade 12 Gauge Side-by-Side
MODEL 1 1/2, 98% FACTORY COLOR

General Specs: Ithaca, Year 1904, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 8oz, SxS
Serial Number: 99744

Most who recognize Vintage Firearms, Inc. as a purveyor of fine collectible shotguns might notice that we rarely offer for sale lower grade guns, especially in 12 gauge.  The reason is that they made so many of them that they are quite common and easy to acquire, hence less of a challenge for me to find.  I love the treasure hunt required to buy the best and rarest American guns.  But...sometimes on my quest I come across a more common gun that I just can't pass up because of very high factory condition.  This Ithaca Lewis Model is just such a gun.  They only made the Lewis model from 1901 to 1906 and it was the first of the Ithaca guns to utilize a rib extension and top bolt lock up in addition to the underlug bolting system utilized in the earlier Crass Model from Ithaca.  This gun, sn99744 retains and amazing 97% vivid factory case color, 99% factory original vivid fine damascus pattern barrels, and 95% bold factory charcoal blue on the trigger guard and top lever.  This is "amazing" because this gun has not been carried or used and is from a day and age that guns were tools and used hard.  To find such a fine example of a lower grade Ithaca that has not been molested in any way is indeed a great treasure in the way of affordable American Classic double shotguns.  Even the stock is intact with original highly decorative factory butt plate showing no wear at all...AND IT HAS GOOD SHOOTING DIMENSIONS!  The 30" damascus barrels have mirror bores, no dents or dings, plenty of wall thickness...just the way you want to find them.  View the photos and you will see this is indeed and investment quality shotgun that is affordable and special.  Thanks for looking!

Common requests are: -stock bending to suit your particular requirements -addition of any specified butt pad to increase length of pull -alteration of chokes to suit your shooting preferences -lengthening of chambers and forcing cones -darkening stock color with penetrating stains -restoring any part of the gun including rust blue, charcoal blue, bone and charcoal case color, wood restoration and checkering recuts.
