This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, barrel, extractor, and yoke with the metal retaining 85-90% of the original phosphate finish that has mild fading on the sides of the barrel, along the exposed edges, and a light turn-ring on the cylinder. Scattered spots of light freckling and pinprick pitting are present on the barrel, frame, and cylinder. The topstrap was once marked with a U.S. Ordnance Dept. “flaming bomb”, and “US PROPERTY GHD” inspection stamp to the left of the sighting channel, but that was removed at some point leaving a pewter gray channel. Additionally, the front sight was lightly polished in order to increase visibility. The hammer and trigger have much of the original color case-hardening remaining, and the smooth walnut grips (numbered to a different gun on the interior) are in very good shape with some light finish loss and several minor handling marks and blemishes around the butt. This is a very nice World War II Victory Model in very good plus condition overall.
