Description:
Serial #12706, .22 LR, 6” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This revolver was made in 1915 and retains about 60-65% of the original blue finish which has faded along the high and projecting edges and may have some cold blue added. The metal has developed a dull plum-brown patina along the edges of the frame with some further mild freckling at the muzzle, and there is a moderate turn-ring at the rear of the cylinder. The hammer and trigger retain some of their original fire blue, and the balance turned to a smooth plum-brown. The checkered hard rubber “COLT” grips are in fair condition with large chips missing from the heel on either side. The lock-up and timing of the action are not entirely synchronized. The revolver works fine as a double action, but does hesitate at times to cock in single action. This is a decent example of a desirable Colt target revolver. FFL or C&R
