Description:
S&W 2nd Mod. Schofield, SN 7049 stamped US, Nickel over Ivory.  See Flayderman 5G-158.  Mechanically excellent with all original parts.  90% nickel with sharp markings and all serial numbers matching.  Some scratches on frame, left side being the worse.  Beautiful ivory grips, showing age and patina with age cracking on but.  Jinks' letter states that this firearm left factory April 11, 1877, as 7"bbl, blue finish with walnut grips, sent to Nat. Armory, Springfield, MA.  Most likely purchased by Schuyler or Bannerman and nickel plated.  Barrel is still 7", and I believe ivory grips were added at this time. Bore is shiny dark with clear rifling and some pitting.  Cylinders are shiny dark.
