"SALE PENDING" - Colt Model 1877 "Lightning" DA Revolver - Sheriff's Model - Cal. .38 - 3 1/2" Bbl. - SN 3107 (1878) - with a high quality fitted case. Bore is excellent - bright with sharp rifling and only a few spots of very mild roughness. Action is excellent in DA and SA with perfect timing and lock-up. Metal is excellent overall, retaining 75% to 80% original factory nickel showing only mild wear and slight flaking in a few spots - no rust, pits, or corrosion. Excellent screws - strong nitre blue on screws, trigger, and hammer - sharp markings and "COLT DA .38" etching on barrel. Hard ribber grips are excellent and undamaged with sharp checkering and logo - showing no wear at all and a perfect fit to frame. The custom-made fitted wooden case is excellent and undamaged and of more recent construction - felt lined with key, screwdriver, and cleaning rod - these cases currently run $400 to $500. An exceptionally nice and all original 2nd year ejectorless "Sheriffs" model 1877 with lots of original finish and perfect mechanics showing minimal use in FINE to near EXCELLENT condition with an attractive quality fitted case. Will make a super addition to an early Colt or Old West collection.
