Description:
25" tapered matted-flat-top-ovoid - to - round barrel with full-band sling eye. Figured European walnut stock with horn forend tip, escutcheoned-screw-fastened slender field forend, flat sidepanels, teardrops, classic flat-point checkering with mullered borders, steel-capped pistol grip with chinstrap, beaded pancake cheekpiece, rear sling eye, and checkered wood butt. Exceedingly rare Miniature Jeffery Farquharson action with side-lever safety and SAFE inlaid in gold, built for Jeffrey by Lummerzheim in Belgium, with his L-in-shield trademark on the top left side of the action. Originally chambered for .297/230 Lancaster. Totally rebuilt by Parker Hale in 1936, stocked, fully engraved with bouquet rose and intertwining scroll on casehardened action and with PARKER HALE inlaid in gold on the left side, rechambered and reproofed for .22 Hornet. Ajack scope with bold pointed post-and-crossbars reticle on hand-detachable Parker-Hale mounts. Pull: 14 3/8". Weight: 6lbs, 9oz. Safety does not remain in SAFE detent. Retaining 99% barrel blue and 98% casehardening colors. Wal Winfer, in British Single Shot Rifles, Vol 3, Jeffrey and the Trade Farquharsons, estimates only ten of these actions were ever built.
