Description:
Serial #F27060, .303 British, 25” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a 1944 dated rifle that has matching numbers on the nosecap, but a mismatched bolt. The metal retains 85-90% of the original gray-green phosphate finish that has silvered at the muzzle, as well as along the high edges and projections. There is a small and unobtrusive import mark is present on the right side of the receiver, and the barrel band has an unusual copper patina visible under the worn Suncorite. The wooden stock and handguards are in fine original condition with only a few small handling dings and minor surface blemishes scattered about, as well as extensive Australian “D^D” property and issue stamps on the right side of the buttstock. The brass buttplate has a darker brown-ochre patina and the stock compartment contains an original bore cleaner. A single magazine and an original khaki canvassling are included. This is a fine, late-war Australian SMLE overall. FFL or C&R
