Description:
Cal 22. This a 1st model with the side loader variation. I don't remember having more than 2 or three of these in the 50 years I have been doing this. Very scarce model. This gun has wood that is in fine condition with almost all original varnish. Rubber shotgun style buttplate. Folding tang sight, of the period buckhorn rear sight and correct Marlin style front sight. Excellent bore. 24" round bbl and 2/3 length mag tube. Gun is fitted with eyes for quick detachable Marlin sling rings. Mounted on the side of the receiver is a staple for a saddle ring. I don't know if this was an option ordered from Marlin or it was and after market addition. Gun has English proofs. Gun has about 60-70% blue overall turning to a plum/brown color in areas. Stock varnish is excellent. A fine little scarce gun.
