Description:
For sale, a very neat London made double action revolver by Robert Adams.  This little percussian revolver was made during the Civil War period and was likely carried as a private purchase sidearm by an officer or enlisted man.  It has some neat features like a safety built into the side of the frame and a loading lever that rides along side the barrel.  The loading lever looks to be a well made period replacement when the original was broken.  The wooden grips are checkered and fit precisely to the frame.  This was a first quality handgun, and one that a soldier would have been pruod to carry.  It was most likely expensive compared to others available at the time so was likely owned by someone of means.  The Adams functions properly and seems to still be in time.  The hammer cocks manually or by double action and the cylinder turns properly.  It has a good bit of original blue finish remaining particularly in the protected areas.  The bore is also in good condition.  This would be a great addition to any American Civil War arms collection.
