Description:
Underwood M1 carbine used by the Bavaria Rural Police. Only about 2700 were issued after WWII. At the end of WWII the Germans were not allowed to use their on weapons. The US and other Allied nations issued the police forces and military police Allied weapons. These were mostly M1 carbines, 1911A1 pistols, S&W 38's. This M1 is all correct and the parts have matching numbers applied by the users; who were maintaining the weapons.The last 4 numbers are placed on thebolt; trigger group; stock and slide. German inventory number marked on the bottom of the trigger group ( LGKNO 1039 ). Underwood 7-43 barrel with flaming bomb proof. Adjustable rear site ( I.R.C.O. marked ) Front sight unmarked. Under wood trigger group. Stock has NRM over FMJ and a flaming bomb near the rear right side. Early sling swivel; flip safety and an unmarked magazine release. I see a small crack where the rifle was stamped Bavaria Rural Police. It appears to be from the stamping and not a defect. I have shot the rifle. I also believe it to have been imported by Tn Arms many years ago. Bore is a2 on my bore gauge.
