REMINGTON NEW YORK MILITIA CONTRACT MODEL 1871 ROLLING BLOCK .50-70 CAL. RIFLE. All original and complete save the end of upper tang missing at screw hole. Upper tang with 3-line Remington address and with last two year patent dates (1867,1871). Fine plus with re-applyed case hardening on frame and barrel a crisp medium grey plum. Good original stock and forend with a slightly sanded and stained finish and trace cartouches on wrists. Hairline to right wrist at upper tang wood and lower tang wood as well as some wood loss but solidly attached. Excellent bore and crisp rifling. Perfect working order. Original sights, sling swivels and barrel bands with "B" and cleaning rod.
