Custom Built .404 Jeffery by Dave Caboth on an N-Series Waffenfabrik Hein Double Square Bridge control round feed action more closely related to the Model 70 than the Model 98 (ca. 2006) with a 3-position Model 70 type safety and bolt shroud shape and a "clover leaf" shaped tang remeniscent of the Pre-War Model 70's, Double sqare bridges accept Talley Lever Lock 1" rings, 23 1/2" barrel with quarter rib w/ single standing express sight w/ gold line and regulated for and marked "100 yds", barrel band sling swivel, and banded/hooded front sight w/ window sight hood, traditional drop belly magazine w/ 4+1 capacity (5 rounds down allowing a round to be stripped from magazine), one-piece bottom metal with straddle floor plate and inside the bow release, single screw steel grip cap, inletted rear swivel, pancake style cheekpiece on nicely figured, albeit very sturdy, Bastogne walnut, two panel point checkering on the pistol grip w/ borderless checkering at thumb flute and mullered borders at the points of the pattern, traditaional wrap checkering point pattern w/ Mullered borders on the forearm by Gary Goudy (founding member of the ACGG), ebony forend tipand two steel cross bolts w/ ebony caps, and 14 1/8" LOP over a black Pachmayr Decelerator pad, metal has a rust blue finish and is tastefully engraved by Jim White in a traditional scroll pattern. This gun is about 97% overall w/ a few handling marks most likely from being in a safe rather than being on a hunt, some blueing salts leaching out under rear of quarter rib, but nothing detrimental. Feeds flawlessly and easily accepts 5 rounds down in the magazine. Gun weighs 9 bls. 7 oz. and would cost over $10,000.00 to replace if you could pull the maker's of this rifle together for a project. I know Dave Caboth, as well as, Gary Goudy personally and both men two of the most talented men in their respective fields.
