Description:
Serial #10449, 8mm Mauser, 18” barrel with a fine, bright bore that has some mild freckling within the grooves. This is a non-import marked rifle that retains 70-80% of the original blue finish with the balance silvered to a smooth gray patina. There is further gray fading at the muzzle as well as along the exposed edges of the triggerguard and receiver. The bolt is numbered to a different gun and finished armory bright with scattered spots of mild freckling, mostly confined to the bolt knob. The handguard and matching numbered stock have a thick, armory added varnish over numerous small handling marks and surface bruises but the wood is not sanded and the Farsi markings are still legible. There are some straight, with-the-grain, hairline cracks running back from the receiver on the top and bottom of the wrist. The cleaning rod is no longer present. This is a good-very good example of a high quality, European-made, contract Mauser and would make a nice addition to a collection. FFL or C&
