Description:
Serial #20226, .45 Colt, 4 1/2” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This large frame revolver retains about 80-85% of the original bright, commercial blue finish with some mild silvering at the muzzle, as well as along the raised edges and projections. Mild flaking has occurred evenly throughout with even, plum-brown freckling that gets heavier along the gripstraps. The hammer and trigger retain most of their original bright, fire bluing with most of the loss occurring on the sides of the trigger along the contact points, and there is further fading on the metal surrounding the lanyard swivel at the butt. The hard rubber grips are in fine condition with some mild flattening of the points, as well as some slight fading on the lefts panel. The lock-up is firm and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is accompanied by a 2016 dated Colt Factory Letter that lists a ship date of August 15, 1908, to Whiton Hardware Co. of Seattle, WA as a single gun shipment. This is a great looking New Service in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
