Description:
This grouping consists of two items: First is a men's two pocket battledress jacket (size 18) in somewhat coarse olive-brown worsted with button front and buckle closure on the hem. The jacket is in excellent shape and has an intact olive green cloth lining with a full complement of buttons and a clear maker's stamp on the interior (Miller & Gabbe Ltd./1952) over a small Canadian Forces inkstamp. The epaulettes have embroidered Captain's pips and the shoulders each have three superimposed cloth badges: "CANADIAN PROVOST/CORPS", "SERVICE BATTALION", and the emblem of the Canadian Mobile Forces Command (a central maple leaf with four radiating arrows). There are also three service chevrons above the cuff on the right sleeve. Lastly, a pair of worsted battledress trousers in fine condition that have the original elastic braces and a cloth maker label on the interior; "SCOTT UNIFORM CO./TROUSERS MEN'S BATTLEDRESS KHAKI 1954/OCTOBER 1962". This is an excellent 1960's Canadian uniform grouping and would make a fabulous addition to a collection.
