Browning Citori Gr V Sporter 20ga
Made in Japan serial number: 07xxxPY163 (ca. 1982) 20ga, 28" VR barrels w/ a single bead, 3" chambers, fixed choked M/F (**/*).
The receiver, trigger tang and forend iron have a coined finish and are hand engraved with deep chiseled game scenes and bold European style scroll featuring 3 pheasants on the left side, two ducks on the right, a setter on the bottom of the action and a flying quail on the trigger bow, receiver is also signed by Japanese Master Engraver: M. Shimomura. Single selective trigger is gold plated.
Straight hand grip and Schnabel forend are oil finished w/ point pattern checkering and Mullered borders.
The Grade V Citori was manufactured from 1978 to 1984 and in the last two years of manufacture the guns were actually signed by the engraver. The Sporter configuration is also a bit more rare than the Lightning and Lightning Field configurations and this is the only one I have ever encountered w/ a 28” barrel. A very rare configuration as well as a very desirable and shootable configuration.
This gun is AS NEW IN BOX, perfect bore. Weighs: 6 lbs 9 oz.
