Description: Fox BE 12 Gauge Side-by-Side Shotgun #4 KRUPP BARRELS, 60% FACTORY CASE COLOR General Specs: Fox, Year 1910, 12 Gauge, 7lbs 2 oz, SxS Serial Number: 17014 Here we have a very nice Fox BE with the early, graceful, English scroll style engraving and lots of original factory case color. This Fox, sn17014 made in 1910, was produced at a time when the finest Fox guns were coming out of Ansley H. Fox's factory. Ansley was still at the helm insisting on the highest quality, even doing the final inspection on most guns himself. The internals are highly polished, and if you read the order card we have with the photographs, you will note that the order asked for extra good wood and a Silvers pad, and indeed this gun has at least C Grade wood on its frame. The gun is tight as new on hinge pin and breech face with the top lever well right of center, excellent screws, perfect mechanics, superb wood to metal fit, mirror bores, everything in remarkable condition for a gun that is 106 years old. We stripped the receiver to the smallest part, cleaned it in our Ultrasonic cleaning device, inspected all parts for integrity, then lubricated and reassembled. We call this a VFI CERTIFIED GUN, and it comes with a 90 day mechanical warranty...a $200 service in our shop. We also restored the original wood, recut the checkering, and made this a very pleasing gun to look at. Fox ejector B Grade guns are very desirable and will continue to gain value as you enjoy the use of this fine Fox, making it an investment rather than an expense. What a great gun to take afield or to the club with your buddies to break some clays this fast approaching season. Thanks for looking!
