Description:
Browning Superposed Grade 1 O/U Shotgun
ROUND KNOB, LONG TANG, 1965

General Specs: Browning, Belgium, Year 1965, 20 Gauge, 6lbs 8oz, Over & Under
Serial Number: 36735 V5

Here we have the venerable Browning Superposed Grade 1 in 20ga. and hard to find field chokes.  Most of these guns are found with skeet chokes and are less desirable.  This gun has 26.5" barrels marked and choked M/F.  As you compare this gun to others, keep in mind that the most desirable Superposed guns are the long tang, round knob guns built before 1966. like this one,.  This 6lb. 8oz. gun, sn36735 V5 built in 1965,  is all factory original and still retains about 98% overall condition with the metal  99.5%.  The wood is original to the gun and the butt stock has the original curved butt with factory butt plate intact measuring 14 3/8" LOP.  The finish is factory original and there are only a few handling marks from being afield.  Guns built after 1966 were prone to salt contamination and rust because of the manner in which Browning cured their wood.  Not all guns were affected, but the market place still has an aversion to the later guns with short tangs, and some even with square knob pistol grips.  This is a great upland gun that is balanced to perfection and light enough to carry all day afield.  The value of these earlier Superposed guns continues to climb, so you can invest in this gun and enjoy its use as it gains value.  Thanks for looking!
