FINE FRENCH OFFICER’S FLINTLOCK PISTOL OF THE AMERICAN REVOLUTIONARY WAR ERA CIRCA 1780. 11” overall with 6” gold damascened and engraved .55 caliber smoothbore octagon to round barrel Engraved steel mounts and ffinely carved walnut stock. Rare style “EAGLEHEAD” steel butt cap with the eagle face engraved in the early style of the late Revolutionary War period. Very fine lock with nicely articulated open work cock and pan and frizzen with delicate beading about the perimeter of both. Walnut stock finely carved about the lock and mounts. Fine to excellent all original condition overall with ramrod a professional restoration. Perfect working order.
