GERMAN 16GA. HAMMER 31" UNDERLEVER SHOTGUN BY LAHAYE OF SUHL WITH HORN TRIGGERGUARD. Serial number "12" and matching on wedge, barrels and forend. Right hammer an early functional replacement. Back action locks in working order. Scroll and game scene engraving overall with fox on left, pair of partridges on right and Capercaillie on half horn triggerguard(tiny final curl missing. Damascus barrels measure 31" overall with some light surface salt and peppering inside and out but nothing deep at all. Original sling swivels. All screws and wedge with same engraving with no replacements. All original wood and checkering with no sanding or refinish work. Some storage dings here and there with some wood loss at left side of forend but solid especially in wrist where usually cracked. Cheekrest. Circa 1870's. Rib silver inlaid with "A. Lahaye Suhl" for Arnold Lahaye of Thuringia.
