- Note: Well, here we have a nice old 1849 Colt Pocket model artifact. What the gun may lack in condition, it makes up for in originality and historical interest. All of the firearm metal surfaces have turned a dark brown patina. The brass backstrap and trigger guard were originally silver-plated but that plating is only visible in protected areas. The interesting thing on this revolver is the inscription on the backstrap which reads: Charles Marshall Master Ship Perseus Sandwich Islands 1859 A.D. If you're prepared for some heavy reading and historical research, try googling "Captain Charles A. Marshall" or "Master Ship Perseus, Sandwich Islands" to find a plethora of information concerning the gun's original owner.
