This is a very handsome revolver that retains 95% plus of the original blue finish with the exception of a light turn-ring on the cylinder, and a series of small flaked areas of dark freckling on the right side of the barrel, just aft of the front sight, where a few isolated spots of moisture affected the finish. Additionally, there is a small dent on the right side of the frame at the barrel breech that was polished over and blued during the original production. The dent is on the frame only and does not carry over onto the barrel at all, even though they are right next to each other. The remainder of the metal is in excellent condition with only very mild silvering along a few of the high edges and projections. The original checkered walnut, Colt medallion grips are in excellent shape with only a small amount of flattening to the points, and some very minor impact marks at the butt on either side. The lock-up is firm and the action functions flawlessly. The revolver is accompanied by a 2016 dated Colt Factory Letter that lists a ship date of October 21, 1935, to W.A. Harvey Sporting Goods of Syracuse, NY as a single gun shipment. This is a a very nice example of Colt's premier target revolver, and is in fine-near excellent condition overall.
