Description:
Serial #5596751, .30-06, 24” barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This rifle was manufactured in 1956 and has nearly all H&R parts with the exception of the IHC marked rear sight. The metal retains 92-95% original parkerizing with on the metal with some silvering at the muzzle, on the projections, on the bearing surfaces of the bolt, and inside the op-rod raceway. The walnut stock has a still legible “RA-P” Raritan Arsenal rebuild cartouche and traces of what look like painted rack or inventory markings on the comb of the butt. The wood retains 90% plus of an arsenal-added military oil finish with numerous light handling marks and blemishes that carry over onto the matching finish handguards. There are a few small chips present on the underside of the stock at the front edge of the floor plate. This is a great arsenal refurbished H&R Garand that is in fine-near excellent condition overall. FFL or C&R
