Winchester Manufactured Model M1 Carbine WWII era. The serial number of this example is 1141XXX placing date of manufacture in October 1942-43. Overall condition of this example is excellent possibly unissued. The sling is marked MRT. The elderly Gentleman I purchased this from told me he bought it in the 1960's from the back page of the American Rifleman, said he paid around $20.00 for it! Says he doesn't remember ever firing it! I do remember those days. You could in fact buy M1 Carbines and other U.S.Military Surplus for around $20.00. Those days are long gone... Finish is 99.9%.
