Marlins Model 1881 large frame lever action rifle. This example is chambered in .40/60 with factory 28 inch Octagon barrel. The serial number is 10640 placing date of manufacture in 1885. Overall condition is excellent with 95+% of the original factory rust blue. The bore is perfect and will rate a 10 on a 1 to 10 scale. faded case colors will be found on the lever and hammer. Wood to metal fit is perfect with 85% of the original factory varnish. Correct tang sight, probably shipped with rifle from the factory.
