EARLY CIVIL WAR SMITH & WESSON #2 OLD MODEL .32 RF CAL. ARMY REVOLVER. Six shot with 6” barrel with crisp “SMITH & WESSON, SPRINGFIELD, MASS.” Address. Missing the extractor rod and hinge pin is loose but action functions and cylinder stops catch. Good original factory rosewood grips with small sliver at back of the left flat. Serial numbers matching in the 4,xxx range produced in 1861-62 and a possible Confederate capture as is in the serial range of the 2600 plus arms supplied to U.S. Kentucky Vol. forces many of whom were captured by Kirby Smith in late 1862.
