RARE AMERICAN COLONIAL ERA PRE-BROWN BESS SPLIT SOCKET BAYONET CIRCA 1720. Identical to fig. B1, page 2, Reilly’s “AMERICAN SOCKET BAYONETS AND SCABBARDS”. 15” o/a with 13” blade with no fullers. Excellent condition. Only one we have had and very rare. Fine condition with old plumbrown patinated finish. One of the rarest American socket bayonets and the very first bayonet illustrated in Bob Reilly’s book.
