Serial number "750" as marked under lever and forend hardware. This was first year the 20ga. Superposed was produced for commercial sale in the US and are in their own serial range atleast during this time period. 28" barrels choked improved mod and full and marked "*" and "**" accordingly. Custom vent rib added later with orange front and mid bead. This shotgun probably came with no rib or "matted rib" and owner decided to have one put on. At the time a vent rib was a $2 extra expense so not all came standard with the gun. Barrels with original blue and little wear or loss(only color missing is around rib where attached). Mint bores and chambers. Single trigger. Top lever right of center and no undue wear on hinge or ejectors. Excellent screws. Round knob with long tang with two screws. Buttstock all original with 14 1/4" length of pull over original horn Browning figure-8 horn buttplate(some wormholes in plate but sound). Original dimensions to stock with no alterations and NO drop. Original Browning stock finish to wood both buttstock and forend with original crisp checkering. Some handling and rack marks to wood but only light(on comb). Sound wrist and perfect inletting a testiment to craftmanship of the time. Only color loss is on thumb safety typical and lower tang from handling. Perfect working order and will make a nice addition to early Browning Superposed collection or vintage gun bird hunter. Hard to find these early 20ga. Superposed especially a first year gun for this gauge. SOLD Curio/Relic: Yes |
