RARE EXHIBITION GRADE FACTORY ENGRAVED EARLY FN BROWNING PATENT 22 LR SEMI-AUTO CARBINE CIRCA 1922. Almost identically engraved to the one illustrated in the 1924 Fabrique Nationale catalog. Listed as the “CARBINE AUTOMATIQUE BROWNING CAL. 22”. Beautifully semi-relief engraved with scroll, vine and “Setter & Bird” scenes on the frame side panels and a beautiful head and chest portrait of a “Setter” on the top panel. Checkered high grade walnut stock and forend with the original finish. Blued metal with all the original finish with some very slight storage patina. Excellent bore and in working order. Very scarce with this high grade early FN Factory engraving possibly done by the early FN Master Hyppolite Corombelle.
