The metal surfaces of this rifle retain 85-90% original blue finish with fading and silvering on the raised edges of the receiver, magazine, barrel, and trigger guard. The walnut stock rates very good plus with scattered handling marks and small surface bruises. The Swiss military stamps and issue marks are all quite crisp and clear as well. All of the numbers are matching (although the magazine was arsenal renumbered to match at some point). Also included with the rifle are an original leather sling, spring metal muzzle cap, and a matching bayonet with scabbard and leather frog. The bayonet is in very good plus condition with a bright, lightly freckled blade. This is a fine-near excellent example of a complete Model 1889 Schmidt-Rubin with all of the accessories.
