This revolver has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, yoke, extractor, and barrel with the metal retaining 85-90% of the original blue that has flaked to underlying gray metal along the sides of the barrel and on the topstrap. Some additional silvering is present on the raised edges and projections with some mild freckling at the grip-frame juncture on both sides and a light turn-ring around the cylinder. British property stamps and later Birmingham proofs are present, oas is a small and unobtrusive import stamp on the underside of the barrel (not visible with the cylinder in place). The hammer and trigger have 80-85% of the original color case-hardening remaining with some traces of mild freckling starting to appear along the sides of the hammer spur and some light fading along the edges. The checkered, diamond-center, S&W medallion grips are numbered to the gun on the interior and have minor wear and surface blemishes, mostly at the top and bottom of the grip panels, as well as some miniscule blemishes around the flare of the butt. The lock-up is still tight and the mechanism functions flawlessly. This is a very nice World War I .455 hand ejector and is in fine overall condition.
