Description: Serial #05/25/06 8138, .408 Cheytac, 31” heavy fluted barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a superbly engineered, modern long-range rifle that weighs in at 21 1/2 lbs. and is in nearly new condition with 99% plus of the original matte black finish remaining on the receiver and barrel, and a commensurate amount of the black anodized finish on the milled alloy stock chassis which has an A2 pistol grip, foam rubber clad tubular metal cheek-rest, Harris bipod, rear monopod, and Pachmayr recoil pad. There are a few spots of very minor silvering on the edges of the muzzle brake, as well as on the knurled bolt handle, but these are very minor. The rifle is topped by a Nightforce Precision Benchrest 12 – 42 x 56 scope with illuminated NP-R2 reticle. The optics are crisp and clear and the scope, like the rifle, does not appear to have been used very much at all. The rifle is housed in a Guard Force metal case. These are supremely accurate rifles and the .408 Cheytac round is proving to be a highly effective sniping and anti-materiel round, even outperforming the legendary .338 Lapua in many applications. This example is in superb, little-used condition and would make a great ultra long range benchrest rifle.
